So what’s your favorite CCW handgun or handguns?

What’s your favorite? The one most likely to be found in your pocket or on your hip when you need it the most? Why is your choice the best suited for you?

Thanks!

Most likely to be found is a S&W M640 .357 Mag. J-frame (pre-lock) riding my right hip in an Uncle Mikes’ Kydex Paddle holster.

Slightly heavier carry mindset puts the 640 in my pocket in an Uncle Mikes’ pocket holster and a S&W M60 .357 Mag. J-frame in the Uncle Mikes’ Kydex Paddle. Both of them are 2 1/8″ .357 Mag. J-frames.

Spare ammo is two HKS 36 speedloaders in my right front pocket either way.

If I want MORE than the second combination but nothing is bad enough to make me want a shotgun, rifle or to just stay away, then I grab either a Colt clone (Rem-Rand slide on a Essex frame with surplus parts) or a Ruger KP-90 on the belt (both have Uncle Mikes’ Kydex paddle holsters for them. Both of them right hip at approx. 4:00 to 5:00 O’clock just like with the J-frame. Also have a Bianchi 7 leather holster with thumb break for the KP-90 worn in the same place when I use it.

Spare ammo for either fits the same holders, an Uncle Mikes’ Kydex dual mag paddle mag carrier carried at 7:00 to 8:00 o’clock.

I have a Bianchi 3P Pistol Pocket for my M65 K-frame Smith, but I don’t like IWB, so I seldom wear it. Have a Safariland single “around the belt” leather speedloader carrier for it also, but it is seldom used since I really don’t like the holster and seldom carry that combination. But it is there if I need it.

Finally, I have a Kel-tec P-11, if I EVER manage to get it shot in. Got right at 200 rds. through it now, but want 500 through it without a failure before I trust it for carry.

Really having trouble dropping from .357 Mag. or .45 ACP down to 9 mm P, even though it carries over twice the ammo as the .357 Mag. and almost twice the ammo of the .45 ACPs.

Have a Fobus kydex for it, flimsiest Fobus holster anyone has ever seen, does not have the red rubber on the inside of the paddle. Also have a single mag. w/flashlight carrier for the double stack P-11 mags (I replaced the 10 round factory mag with factory 12 round mags so the P-11 (12 + 1) and one spare mag (12) give 25 rounds of ammo. The flashlight holder works with my old SureFire 3P Christmaslight, but WON’T carry my Brinkman Maxfire LX unless I drill the rivets out to open it up and replace them with nuts and bolts, or skin the rubber covering off of the Brinkman. Have not done either yet. That 3P (one CR 123)is sure dim compared to the Brinkman (2 CR 123) light.

If I want concealed but am looking for power (animals more than combat) I have a concealment type holster (high ride, thumb break) for my 5 1/2″ Super Blackhawk also.

Something in that selection should take care of any of my needs short of a rifle or a shotgun.
